David Robertson - On track for setup roleRobertson is poised to begin the season in a setup role after Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday there is a "strong possibility" Jose Leclerc will open as the closer, Evan Gra...
ImpactRobertson was never likely to fully usurp Leclerc from the job during spring training, but there seemed to be a chance Bochy might utilize a committee approach. Robertson will instead begin the campaign in a setup role, which significantly dampens his fantasy outlook. The 38-year-old is still likely to be the next man up and should see occasional save chances even if Leclerc is pitching well.

Blaze Alexander - Makes case for rosterAlexander started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's spring game against Texas.
ImpactAlexander is still hanging around major-league camp and can't be ruled out of a spot on the Opening Day roster. There isn't an everyday home for the prospect, but the infielder is batting .400 with five extra-base hits and three stolen bases through 18 Cactus League games. If he can handle multiple positions and the Diamondbacks are fine with him not getting regular at-bats, Alexander could be added to the roster. He's appeared in games at second base (12), third base (three), designated hitter (two) and shortstop (one).

Ryne Nelson - Works around walksNelson allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings in Saturday's spring start against the Rangers.
ImpactNelson may have sewn up the fifth starter job with this effort. The three walks were the most he's allowed in five Cactus League starts, but he managed to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning. He was pulled from the game in the fourth inning only to come back and start the fifth, giving him five up-and-downs and a pitch count of 78, per Michael McDermott of SI.com. Both Nelson and Tommy Henry will get one more spring start before a decision is made as to which one will fill out the rotation.

José Castillo - Tests come back cleanCastillo is day-to-day after tests on his left hand came back negative, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactCastillo was struck in the hand by a comebacker during a Cactus League appearance Saturday, but he's managed to escape with just a contusion. The 28-year-old is trying to win a bullpen job as a non-roster invitee and has pitched well this spring, allowing two runs with a 6:1 K:BB over seven innings.

Geraldo Perdomo - Tests on knee are negativePerdomo took grounders Saturday after imaging on his left knee came back negative, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactPerdomo hurt his knee earlier this week on a slide during Cactus League play, but he's managed to avoid a serious injury. It's not clear when he might be cleared to play in a game, but Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he's not concerned about his shortstop's availability for Opening Day.
