Jay Jackson - Rejoining big-league clubJackson was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
ImpactThe 34-year-old was up with the big-league club for one day last week and will return to the majors Thursday with Max Fried (concussion) headed to the injured list. Jackson had a 3.74 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB across 21.2 innings for the Giants last year, but he's yet to make his season debut in 2022.

ImpactFried was scheduled to start Friday's series opener against Miami, but he banged his head against the ground while attempting to make a throw to the plate during his last outing Saturday and will ultimately be forced to miss time. He'll be eligible to return as early as Monday, but it's not yet clear if he's expected to clear the concussion protocols by that point. Jake Odorizzi will take his place as Friday's starter.

Eric Hosmer - Returning to action ThursdayHosmer (knee) is starting at first base and batting sixth Thursday against the Orioles, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
ImpactHosmer sat out Wednesday after suffering the knee bruise during Tuesday's contest, but he'll rejoin the lineup after missing only one game. The 32-year-old is 2-for-12 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs through his first four games with the Red Sox.
