Luke Jackson - Loses arbitration caseJackson (elbow) will receive a $3.6 million contract for 2022 after losing his arbitration case with Atlanta on Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
ImpactJackson suffered a torn UCL late in spring training and underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-April. The right-hander will miss the entire 2022 season and should also be unavailable early in 2023.

Spencer Strider - Notches first career holdStrider struck out the side in a perfect seventh inning Wednesday to record his first hold of the season in an extra-innings loss to the Brewers.
ImpactThe rookie looked very comfortable in his new setup role, but the rest of the Atlanta bullpen wasn't able to get the job done. Strider has a dominant 40.0 percent strikeout rate through 20.2 innings this season with a 2.61 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, and while he's no threat to Kenley Jansen in the closer spot, he should be able to collect holds quickly with more high-leverage usage.

ImpactThe first baseman has stumbled to a .203 batting average through 16 games in May (12-for-59), but Olson is still reaching base at a .338 clip thanks to a strong 16.9 percent walk rate, and eight of his 12 hits have gone for extra bases (six doubles and two homers). ImpactKenley Jansen and Darren O'Day each blew saves in the ninth and 10th innings as Atlanta couldn't put the game away, and after Chavez got the final out of the 10th, he completed the bullpen collapse by serving up a leadoff blast to Keston Hiura in the bottom of the 11th. Chavez remains in a low-leverage role and has yet to record a win, save or hold through 11 appearances, with his 4.40 ERA and 1.47 WHIP offering little fantasy value.
