Set for season-ending surgery Nola was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left thumb strain and will undergo season-ending surgery, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact It's not entirely clear when the issue initially arose, but it seems possible that Nola has been trying to play through the injury for a while. The backstop concludes the campaign with two homers to go along with a .272/.340/.376 slash line across 194 plate appearances. Webster Rivas was recalled from Triple-A El Paso and figures to share the catching duties with Victor Caratini during the final games of the season.
