Rehabbing in ACL Romine (wrist) began a rehab assignment Monday with the Cubs' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate. He started at catcher and went 1-for-2 with a double. Impact The rehab appearance marked Romine's first game action since April 25, when he suffered a significant left wrist sprain that sidelined him for three months. Because of the lengthy layoff, Romine will likely be in store for an extended rehab assignment that spans multiple minor-league affiliates. Once reinstated from the 60-day injured list, he could supplant Robinson Chirinos as the No. 2 catcher behind top backstop Willson Contreras.
