The second baseman is slashing .195/.259/.369 with 10 homers, two steals, 37 RBI, 36 runs scored, 16 doubles and three triples through 94 contests. Odor's slump has coincided with the promotion and subsequent success of Terrin Vavra, who has mainly been confined to designated hitter over concerns about his defense not being major-league ready. Considering Odor has committed nine errors (second-most among second basemen) and posted a .975 fielding percentage, the Orioles' defensive situation at the keystone can't get much worse. Vavra posted a .971 fielding percentage in 24 games at second base across two levels of the minors prior to his promotion.

Impact Rutschman reached base four times for the second time in five games, and after getting on a total of 15 times over that span, his OPS on the season is now up to .809. Rutschman has regularly hit second of late, and with Trey Mancini no longer on the roster, it's likely that arrangement will continue.

Impact Voth has proven to be quite the pickup, posting a 3.19 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB over 36.2 innings since the Orioles claimed him off waivers from the Nationals in early June. His next start is projected to be on the road either in Boston or Tampa, depending on if the Orioles need to adjust their rotation next week.

Impact Vavra had a bit of a slow start after his callup, but he's gone 6-for-10 with five walks in his last five contests. The 25-year-old posted a strong 13.9 percent walk rate and a 17.3 percent strikeout rate with Triple-A Norfolk this year, so he's no stranger to impressive plate discipline. He seems to have settled in as the primary designated hitter against right-handed pitchers, though he's also drawn a start in left field. Vavra's defense isn't regarded as highly as his bat, but the natural second baseman could eventually push Rougned Odor for playing time at the keystone.

The 24-year-old hasn't quite unlocked all of his power potential yet, but he's well on his way to living up to the hype as the first overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Impact Manager Brandon Hyde wouldn't commit to the 27-year-old as his sole closer following the Jorge Lopez trade, but as expected Bautista collected Baltimore's first save after the trade deadline.
