Kyle Hendricks - Facing shutdownHendricks (shoulder) will be shut down for at least 2-to-3 weeks before he's cleared to play catch, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ImpactHendricks has been on the injured list for a week due to a right shoulder strain, and he recently underwent an MRI that didn't reveal any structural damage. However, the right-hander will require more than the minimum of 15 days on the shelf since he won't be able to resume throwing until at least late July. A better timetable for Hendricks' return is unlikely to be revealed until he begins a throwing program.

ImpactMadrigal was removed from Sunday's rehab game at Triple-A Iowa after experiencing renewed tightness in his left groin, but he'll work on strengthening exercises to begin the week. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to resume his rehab assignment, but it's possible that he'll rejoin the Cubs sometime in late July.

ImpactRoberts sustained his right elbow injury during a rehab appearance at Triple-A Iowa in late June and will be unavailable for the remainder of the 2022 season and most or all of the 2023 campaign following Wednesday's procedure. The 25-year-old made his major-league debut in 2022 and posted an 8.22 ERA and 2.09 WHIP in 7.2 innings over nine relief appearances.

Daniel Norris - Reinstated from 15-day ILNorris (finger) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
ImpactNorris was on the injured list since June 23 but reported to Triple-A Iowa last week to begin a rehab assignment. He allowed a run (zero earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out five in three innings over his two rehab appearances and will rejoin the Cubs' bullpen ahead of Wednesday's series finale against the Orioles.

ImpactSwarmer shifted to a relief role in late June and allowed six runs (three earned) on 10 hits and 10 walks while striking out 12 in 9.1 innings over six appearances out of the bullpen. However, he'll head to the minors after Daniel Norris (finger) was reinstated from the injured list Wednesday.
