Logan Allen - Called up to start MondayThe Guardians recalled Allen from Triple-A Columbus ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks.
ImpactTanner Bibee still needs more time off to move past a shoulder injury, so the Guardians will bring back Allen to make his first start for the big club since July 6. After a solid rookie campaign in 2023, Allen turned in a 5.67 ERA over 18 starts this season before the Guardians sent the struggling lefty to the minors. Though he's rebounded over his three starts at Triple-A with a 3.86 ERA, Allen has given up three long balls while turning in an underwhelming 12:7 K:BB in 16.1 innings. Since Allen doesn't seem to have completely righted the ship during his time in the minors, he's tough to rely on as a streaming option against an Arizona lineup that has produced a 117 wRC+ versus lefties this season.
