Drew Rasmussen - Likely to stay in rotationManager Kevin Cash suggested after Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Orioles that Rasmussen will remain in the Tampa Bay rotation for at least one more turn, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay...
ImpactRasmussen technically made his fourth start of the season Tuesday, but since he was used as more of an opener in the first two outings, he's only made two proper turns through the rotation. Because he had been working in relief prior to moving into the rotation last week, Rasmussen has been capped at four innings in his two turns and has been exceptional both times. In Tuesday's win, he held the Orioles scoreless while striking out three and allowing one hit and one walk. Though Chris Archer (forearm) should be back from the 60-day injured list early next week and could slot into the rotation, he's more likely to replace the struggling Michael Wacha or inconsistent Josh Fleming than Rasmussen.

Chris Archer - Next outing to come in majorsManager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that Archer (forearm) is expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list in the coming days to make his next appearance with the Rays, Steve...
ImpactTampa Bay is still weighing whether to deploy Archer as a starter or reliever upon his return, but the club at least seems confident that he's healthy again after he made the sixth appearance of his rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Durham. He built up to 4.2 innings in the outing, giving up three runs on one hit and two walks while striking out six. If the Rays do decide to move Archer into the rotation, Michael Wacha (11.57 ERA in 14 innings over his last three starts) would seem most at risk of losing his spot.

ImpactAfter putting his eight-game hit streak on hold to rest in Monday's series opener with Baltimore, Arozarena returned to the lineup for Tuesday's 10-0 win and proceeded to resume raking. He finished the day 4-for-5 with a double and two runs, lifting his season-long batting average to .280.

Manuel Margot - Heads to bench WednesdayMargot is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ImpactAfter going a collective 2-for-12 with three runs and an RBI while starting each of the past three games, Margot will take a seat Wednesday. The Rays will roll out an outfield of Austin Meadows, Kevin Kiermaier and Randy Arozarena from left to right.

Terrin Vavra - Shifts rehab to High-AThe Orioles transferred Vavra's (back) rehab assignment from Low-A Delmarva to High-A Aberdeen on Tuesday.
ImpactVavra had spent the entire season at Double-A Bowie before being placed on the 7-day injured list June 18 with the back strain, so he looks to be one step away from returning to the affiliate. Before reporting to Aberdeen, Vavra played three rehab games in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and one at Delmarva, going 5-for-12 with a stolen base across those contests.
