Solid spring to dateSwanson has gone 7-for-21 (.333) with four doubles and a 3:6 BB:K over 10 Grapefruit League games.
ImpactHe's still looking for his first spring homer, but otherwise Swanson has had a productive camp. The shortstop posted career highs in SLG (.464) and OPS (.809) last season, and the 27-year-old could be poised for a breakout campaign as he looks to build on that performance.

Remains in rotation huntWright has posted a 4.09 ERA and 10:5 K:BB through 11 Grapefruit League innings.
ImpactThe right-hander hasn't been dominant this spring, but he's delivered some solid innings, and perhaps most importantly he hasn't served up a home run after being taken deep seven times in 38 innings last season. Wright is still competing for the No. 5 starter role to begin the season as Atlanta waits for Mike Soroka (Achilles) to prove he's fully healthy, and Bryse Wilson (1.98 ERA, 9:4 K:BB in 13.2 spring innings) is also firmly in the mix for the assignment.

Bolsters bid for rotationWilson allowed one run on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings while striking out three during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox.
ImpactThe right-hander took a line drive off the calf from the first batter of the game, Enrique Hernandez, but Wilson stayed on the mound and was able to regain his focus. Atlanta will need someone to fill a rotation spot to begin the season with Mike Soroka (Achilles) still in the final stages of his recovery, and Wilson's resilience Saturday almost certainly helped his case. He has a 1.98 ERA and 9:4 K:BB through 13.2 innings this spring, but his main competition, Kyle Wright (4.09 ERA, 10:5 K:BB through 11 innings) has also been solid.

Runs into trouble third time outPerez allowed five runs on six hits and five walks while striking out three over five innings in Saturday's spring start against Atlanta.
ImpactPerez had a couple of quality Grapefruit League starts before experiencing adversity in his third outing Saturday. He told Ian Browne of MLB.com that he was rushing his mechanics, but that he felt strong. Perez will get two more spring starts to correct Saturday's issues.

Connects in first spring ABCordero started at designated hitter and went 1-for-2 in Saturday's spring game against Atlanta.
ImpactCordero made his spring debut Saturday and singled in first plate appearance. The outfielder has been delayed by COVID-19 and is in jeopardy of not being ready for the start of the regular season. The plan going forward, per Ian Browne of MLB.com is to give him an off-day Sunday before he makes his debut in left field Monday. Boston manager Alex Cora said the goal is for Cordero to be ready Opening Day, and the coaches and training staff will be working toward that goal over the coming week.
