ImpactPerez has been sidelined since Aug. 10 with a strained left oblique, but he took live batting practice over the weekend without issue to gain clearance to play in rehab games. The young switch hitter shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before returning to the Tigers' active roster.

Nick Sogard - Getting rest MondaySogard isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
ImpactSogard has gone 2-for-16 with seven strikeouts over his last five contests, and the Red Sox will now give him a chance to clear his head Monday. Enmanuel Valdez will pick up a start at the keystone as a result while batting eighth.

ImpactHolton has been an important member of Detroit's bullpen this year, posting a 2.44 ERA and 0.83 WHIP across 77.1 innings. Most of his appearances have lasted more than one inning, and he was able to reach three frames as recently as Aug. 17. Once the 28-year-old lefty exits Monday's contest, Ty Madden is expected to pitch in bulk relief.
