Impact Boxberger gave up a leadoff single to Carson Kelly but quickly finished off the next three batters to earn his first save since April 7. He's converted his only two save chances this season and has seven holds alongside a 3.04 ERA. He won't get regular looks in the ninth inning as long as Josh Hader is healthy and dealing.

Impact Boxberger spent the early portion of May working in middle relief, but he has played a more prominent role since the Brewers traded J.P. Feyereisen to the Rays on May 21, and that has resulted in him picking up two wins since that date. The veteran righty has allowed just one hit and posted a 6:2 K:BB in five scoreless innings over his last six appearances, so expect him to remain in the late-inning mix for the time being.

Impact Boxberger recorded the final out of the fifth inning after striking out Eugenio Suarez, though he had previously loaded the bases when he hit Tucker Barnhart with a pitch. This was Boxberger's first win of the campaign and continues to pitch well even though he's given up runs in two of his last seven appearances. He owns a 4.41 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP across 16.1 innings on the season.

Impact Boxberger relieved J.P. Feyereisen with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning. The 32-year-old Boxberger got Ian Happ to fly out on six pitches to secure the Brewers' win. This was Boxberger's first save since the 2019 season when he played for the Royals. He has not allowed a baserunner nor recorded a strikeout in his first 1.1 innings this year. As long as Josh Hader is healthy, Boxberger shouldn't be expected to see many save chances.

Boxberger has only been scored upon once in nine appearances, posting a 2.35 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 7.2 innings, and his fastball velocity has returned -- he topped out at 94.4 mph in Friday's outing. If anything were to remove Kintzler from the saves picture, Boxberger appears to be the likely next man up in the ninth for the Marlins.
