Impact Keller kept the ball in the yard Wednesday, but the 12 baserunners he allowed represented a season high. The right-hander has been inconsistent throughout the year with a 5.75 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 59:33 K:BB across 61 innings. While he's upped his K/9 to 8.1, his BB/9 of 4.3 and HR/9 of 1.2 are also elevated compared to a 2.8 BB/9 and 0.3 HR/9 from last year. He also carries a .363 BABIP and 4.61 FIP, so some of Keller's struggles can be pinned on bad luck. He'll line up for a start versus Detroit next week.

Impact Keller was handed a commanding lead Friday after the Royals tallied nine runs on six hits, two errors and a walk in the first inning. The 25-year-old did surrender a solo home run to Jorge Polanco in the fifth but struck out at least five for the third consecutive start and didn't walk a batter for the first time all year. While Keller has been much better over the last month, he still owns a 5.50 ERA. The right-hander is expected to take the mound next week against the Angels in Los Angeles.

Impact Keller was knocked around in the outing, as four of the hit eight hits he surrendered went for extra bases. Even so, he avoided a disastrous start by getting timely outs and limiting Milwaukee to only three earned runs. Through nine starts this season, Keller has completed six innings only twice and at least five innings on only five occasions. The end result has been a 6.52 ERA across 38.2 innings. Keller will look to get on track in his next outing, currently projected to come Tuesday at Tampa Bay.
