Released Monday Brennan was released by the Red Sox on Monday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Impact The 30-year-old had been with Triple-A Worcester since June 16 and only appeared in one game for the Red Sox this season tossing three scoreless innings on June 12. In his career he has compiled a 4.21 ERA over 57.2 innings in the majors.

Impact Brennan was designated for assignment by Boston on Sunday, and he'll remain in the organization going forward. The right-hander made eight appearances at the Triple-A level earlier in the year and posted a 2.16 ERA and 11:5 K:BB in 8.1 innings.
