Settling back in at hot corner Anderson will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Mets.

Impact Anderson picked up his first two starts of the season in right field, but he'll man third base for the second time in as many days following Luis Urias' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list. While Urias is on the shelf, Anderson is expected to play third base on a regular basis against right-handed pitching, though he could see more time in the corner outfield versus left-handers. Wherever Anderson is used in the field likely won't influence his fantasy outlook in any major way, as he should already carry eligibility in outfield and third base in most leagues after logging 41 and 42 starts at those respective positions in 2022. Anderson has recorded exactly one hit and one walk in each of the Brewers' first three games of the season and has scored twice and driven in one run.

Will see bulk of starts in RF Anderson will play right field "quite a bit" at the start of the season for the Brewers, manager Craig Counsell told Adam McCalvy of MLB.com on Wednesday.

Impact It seemed when Anderson was first signed back in January that the plan was to play him primarily at third base as Luis Urias slid over to second. However, Tyrone Taylor's (elbow) injury created an opening in right field and Brice Turang seized the second base gig, allowing Urias to stay at third and Anderson to play right. His leash figures to be pretty short, though, as the Brewers have some talented young outfielders waiting at Triple-A Nashville and also Jesse Winker available to play the outfield when he's not at designated hitter.

Impact Anderson had a rough final year in Miami last season, but there's some thought that he could be rejuvenated offensively following an offseason move to Milwaukee. He's in line for everyday playing time out of the gate, whether in the corner outfield or his standard position at third base, and American Family Field is a lot friendlier to hitters than loanDepot park. There should deep-league fantasy appeal here.

After serving mainly as an everyday third baseman through his first five seasons with the Marlins, Anderson moved into more of a utility role in 2022, but a downturn in performance at the plate resulted in Miami cutting him earlier in the offseason. With the move to Milwaukee, Anderson will get the chance to win the starting job at the hot corner or in right field this spring, and at the very least, he should see plenty of playing time against left-handed pitching in 2023.
