Shows power to close season Ramos went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Tigers.

Impact Ramos started 14 games in September after being recalled Sept. 4. He showed some decent pop by collecting three homers and five total extra-base hits in 59 plate appearances. He hit just .208, but a 23.7 percent strikeout rate isn't all that concerning. Ramos should be in position to compete for the starting third base job in 2025.

Impact Manager Grady Sizemore stated in Monday's pregame press conference that he doesn't have an immediate plan to slot Moncada back into the starting lineup upon his return, and the club would actually like to see what Ramos and Miguel Vargas can do over the last few weeks of the regular season. Ramos is 5-for-21 with two homers, three RBI and four runs scored in seven games since being promoted Sept. 4, and he figures to see consistent playing time at the hot corner or in the DH slot over the remaining 11 games of the 2024 campaign.

Impact Ramos' solo shot in the sixth inning proved to be the game-deciding run. It was his second career home run and both have come in his last six appearances. The rookie third baseman is slashing .209/.250/.343 with five extra-base hits through 22 games.

Swats first big-league homer Ramos went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Monday in a loss to the Guardians.

Impact Ramos was the biggest bright spot in another loss for Chicago, as he swatted a two-run shot to left field in the eighth inning for his first major-league home run. The 22-year-old had been finding big-league pitching hard to figure out prior to Monday, as he was batting just .196 with one walk over 48 plate appearances. Ramos has some pop -- he went deep as many as 22 times in a season (2022) in the minors -- and he could get some increased run down the stretch with the White Sox understandably looking ahead to the future.

Recalled to Chicago The White Sox recalled Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Impact With Brooks Baldwin (wrist) headed for the injured list, the White Sox will call upon Ramos to make up for the lost depth in their infield. The 22-year-old hasn't appeared in a major-league game since late May, though he could have an opportunity to make some starts at third base if Miguel Vargas (eye) continues to sit out.

Impact Chicago has been leaning on a combination of Lenyn Sosa (.403 OPS in August) and Miguel Vargas (.420 OPS in August) at third base in recent weeks, but neither player has performed well enough to seize control of an everyday role. Ramos could contend for reps at the hot corner while he's up with Chicago, though he endured similar struggles at the plate during his first taste of the majors back in May. He slashed .196/.208/.239 with a 2.1 percent walk rate and a 16.7 percent strikeout rate in 48 plate appearances for the White Sox before he was optioned to Charlotte on May 30.

Impact The club will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's game in Milwaukee. Ramos had been 0-for-14 with five strikeouts in five games since returning from a quadriceps injury. Impact Ramos was placed on the injured list Friday (retroactive to Wednesday) with a strained left quad, and the fact he is already beginning an assignment in Charlotte means he will almost certainly be activated when eligible Saturday. The 22-year-old infielder was 9-for-32 with two RBI through his first 10 games in the majors before getting hurt.
