Impact Schmitt went yard in the fourth inning to give the Giants a 4-2 lead. The infielder has gone 6-for-14 (.429) with four RBI since he rejoined the major-league roster last week. For the season, he's posted a .240/.267/.460 slash line with six homers, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored, two doubles and one triple over 36 major-league contests.

Impact The 25-year-old spent the past couple weeks in the minors but will rejoin the big club Tuesday as Matt Chapman heads to the paternity list. Schmitt has a .206/.255/.324 slash line in 277 plate appearances in the majors this season.

Impact Schmitt owns a .553 OPS across 38 plate appearances since the start of August and has seen his playing time diminish over the past several weeks. He'll now head back to Sacramento to receive regular reps while Marco Luciano comes up from Triple-A to take Schmitt's place as infield depth.

Impact Schmitt's lone hit of the game opened the scoring in the second inning, and it was all the run support Blake Snell needed in his no-hitter. Over four contests since rejoining the major-league roster, Schmitt has gone 3-for-11 with two home runs and a triple. The infielder doesn't have an immediate path to everyday playing time, especially when he has Brett Wisely and Marco Luciano to compete with in the middle infield. For the season, Schmitt is slashing .231/.255/.519 with four homers, eight RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases over 55 plate appearances.

Impact Schmitt made an early impact Sunday, going deep off Austin Gomber in the first inning. The homer was Schmitt's third of the season and his first since he was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday. The infielder has added a .244/.271/.511 slash line with seven RBI, seven runs scored, one double, one triple and no stolen bases over 48 plate appearances in the majors this season. He's an option all over the infield, but Schmitt is most likely to share second base as a short-side platoon partner with Brett Wisely until Thairo Estrada (wrist) returns.

Though he's been valued for his defensive work, Schmitt's lack of production at the plate over a prolonged stretch looks as though it'll force him into a utility role even while the Giants are without Brandon Crawford (forearm). The Giants signed veteran Paul DeJong on Wednesday, and he's expected to take over as the team's everyday shortstop sans Crawford.
