Impact Pinder was activated from the injured list earlier Friday after missing over a month with a right hamstring injury. The utility man will get the nod against southpaw Alex Wood in the series opener, and he's likely to continue to see the bulk of his starts against left-handers going forward.

The utility man began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday and has gone 2-for-8 with a homer, double, and two RBI across his first two games. He'll get two or three more games in with the Aviators before rejoining the A's at some point over the weekend. It's not entirely clear where Pinder will slot in once activated, but his versatility should get him consistent at-bats against left-handed starters.
