Rehab assignment to begin McCormick (hand) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.

Impact The plan is for McCormick to play Monday and Tuesday for the Skeeters. If there are no setbacks, then he'll be activated Friday, Sept. 3, when the Astros who kick off a three-game set against the Padres in San Diego. Jake Meyers has been filling in for McCormick in center field, but it's unclear if McCormick will resume an everyday role in center. Meyers has hit well since joining the Astros, posting an .871 OPS with three home runs, four doubles and 14 RBI over 20 games.
