Isaac Paredes - Scratched with bruised wrist Paredes was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Nationals due to a left wrist contusion, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Impact Paredes was hit in the left hand/wrist during Thursday's contest and also sat down Friday, though this is the first time the Cubs have specified his absence as injury-related. He'll take another day to recover, meanwhile Luis Vazquez will enter the lineup to start at third base and bat ninth.

Seiya Suzuki - Getting breather Saturday Suzuki isn't in the Cubs' lineup Saturday against Washington.

Impact Suzuki's 0-for-3 performance in Friday's win put an end to his 10-game hitting streak, during which he went 16-for-41 with two home runs and six RBI. He'll get a chance to rest Saturday while Patrick Wisdom fills in as Chicago's DH and bats seventh.

Impact It's the same injury which sidelined Wicks for more than two months before he returned at the beginning of September. He posted a 7.50 ERA and 10:10 K:BB over four starts since his activation, so it's possible the lefty was never fully healthy. Wicks finishes the season having been limited to just 46 innings due to injury, holding a 5.48 ERA and 42:20.
