Porter Hodge - Earns win Friday Hodge (2-1) tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Friday against the Marlins. He walked one and struck out three.
Impact Hodge came on with two outs in the seventh inning, then worked through the eighth as well. The young righty continued his strong recent play and lowered his season ERA to a sparkling 1.99. Jorge Lopez worked the ninth for the save in Friday's 6-3 win, but the two pitchers may simply split closing duties moving forward following the release of Hector Neris on Tuesday. It was Hodge who secured the first save for the Cubs after Neris was cut loose.

Impact Suzuki extended his hitting streak to three games, with two of those contests multi-hit performances. Pete Crow-Armstrong - Hits inside-the-park home run Crow-Armstrong went 2-for3 with a homer and two runs scored in Friday's 6-3 win against the Marlins.
Impact Crow-Armstrong put the Cubs on the board in the third inning when he lined one over Jesus Sanchez's head and raced around the bases in 14.1 seconds for the inside-the-park homer. The 14.1 seconds it took Crow-Armstrong to get from home-to-home was the 3rd fastest time tracked since 2015, with Byron Buxton being the only player to do it faster. Crow-Armstrong is being given plenty of opportunities to showcase his impressive tools, starting 25 straight games at center field and hitting .287/.321/.525 with three homers, 11 RBI and five stolen bases in that span.

Miguel Amaya - Blasts seventh home run Amaya went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs in Friday's 6-3 win against the Marlins.
Impact Amaya hit a grand slam in Thursday's win against the Tigers, and Friday hit another homer, going deep in consecutive games for the first time in his career. The 25-year-old has taken over as the Cubs regular catcher, starting 14 of their last 17 games. Amaya is in the midst of the best stretch of his young career, hitting .283/.298/.587 with four home runs and 13 RBI over his last 17 games and should continue to see regular at-bats going forward.

Ian Happ - Goes deep in win Happ went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Friday's 6-3 win against the Marlins.
Impact Happ took Max Meyer deep in the third inning for his 23rd home run of the season. Happ has been particularly good as of late on the road, with four home runs in his last seven games away from Wrigley. The 30-year-old has been in the middle of a power surge with six homers in his last 13 games and nine overall since the All-Star break.

Jorge López - Picks up fourth save Lopez earned the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Marlins, throwing a perfect ninth inning and striking out two batters.
Impact Lopez was brought on to protect a 6-3 lead on Friday and looked great in his fourth save of the season. Lopez has now picked up two of the last three saves for the Cubs and could be looking as the team's best ninth-inning option the rest of the way. The 31-year-old has been lights out since joining the Cubs in June, pitching to a 0.79 ERA over 22.2 innings with his new club.

Kyle Hendricks - Gives up three runs in no-decision Hendricks didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Marlins, allowing three run on seven hits and two walks across 4.2 innings.
Impact Hendricks pitched well on Friday but couldn't make it out of the fifth inning to be in consideration for the win. The 34-year-old has looked better as of late, with a 4.54 ERA over his last eight starts. Hendricks has allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts. He should continue to see opportunities, but strikeouts remain an issue as Friday was his first start of the year without a punchout.
