Impact Madrigal returned as a pinch hitter in the fifth inning and stayed in the game, playing second base. He singled and scored in the sixth on P.J. Higgins' home run. It was his first appearance for the Cubs since May 9. Between his stint on the injured list and his .503 OPS, Madrigal's first season on the northside of Chicago has left much to be desired. With Andrelton Simmons and Christopher Morel each receiving time at the keystone in Madrigal's absence, there's no guarantee he will receive the bulk of the playing time now that he's healthy.

Justin Steele - Walks four in no-decision Steele allowed three runs on three hits and four walks over five innings in an 8-7 win Tuesday over Milwaukee. He struck out six and did not factor into the decision.
Impact Steele gave up three runs in the third inning on three hits and a walk. Through four innings, the lefty had thrown 89 pitches and walked a batter in each frame. Somewhat surprisingly, he came back out for the fifth inning and retired the side in order, finishing with a career-high 102 pitches tossed. The 26-year-old has completed five innings in only four of his 10 starts and has an alarming 23 walks in 40 innings.

Clint Frazier - Records first stolen base Frazier went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Brewers. He also stole a base.
Impact Frazier, who underwent an appendectomy in late April, is slowly starting to see more playing time following his return from the injured list Saturday, and Tuesday was the best he's looked all season. It was his first multi-hit effort of the year and the stolen base was also his first. Frazier has never stolen more than three bases in a season, so speed isn't a huge part of his game, but it's good to at least see the outfielder look healthy.

Impact Contreras continued his good recent stretch of games, as he's now batting .346 over his past eight contests with three home runs, four RBI and six runs scored. Overall, the catcher has a solid .907 OPS, which would represent a new career high if it holds up. His previous best in that category was the .888 OPS he recorded in 2019, which is also when he blasted a career-high 24 home runs. Contreras has eight home runs through 41 games this year.

Patrick Wisdom - Tallies homer, stolen base Tuesday Wisdom went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.
Impact The home run isn't much of a surprise, as Wisdom now has 11 this season through 46 games. However, the stolen base was just the second of the year for the third baseman, though they've both come in the past week. Speed isn't likely to become a huge part of Wisdom's game anytime soon, but even modest contributions there help to enhance his overall fantasy profile.

David Robertson - Notches seventh save Robertson pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout to record the save in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.
Impact After blowing a save in his last outing Sunday, Robertson bounced back nicely with his seventh save in nine chances this season. The two blown saves have been about the only blemish for the veteran righty, who has a stellar 1.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 24 strikeouts across 18.1 innings so far in 2022.

Adrian Sampson - Back with Cubs organization Sampson re-signed Tuesday with the Cubs on a minor-league deal and was assigned to Triple-A Iowa, Tommy Birch of The Des Moines Register reports.
Impact Sampson previously signed with the Cubs in March and made a one-inning appearance out of the bullpen May 8 when he was called up from the minors. He was designated for assignment and claimed off waivers by the Mariners just a few days later, but his stay in the Seattle organization lasted just under two weeks before he elected free agency. He'll now rejoin the Cubs and will serve as organizational starting depth at Iowa.
