ImpactTrout's gotten off to a sluggish start in June, going just 3-for-21 (.143) with five walks over the first six games of the month. He homered five times over the last two weeks of May, but Wednesday's blast was his first long ball in June. It's likely little more than a blip on the radar for the star outfielder, who's maintained a .265/.363/.500 slash line with 14 homers, 35 RBI, 38 runs scored and no stolen bases through 59 contests this season.

ImpactRengifo homered for the second time three games, and he's gone 7-for-16 (.438) through five contests in June. He also recorded his fifth steal of the season, his first since May 19, putting him one shy of matching his career high. The infielder typically doesn't add a ton of pop or speed, but he's seemingly starting to rediscover his 2022 form. He's still got work to do with his season slash line at .224/.311/.333 through 167 plate appearances.

ImpactBarria struggled in the fifth inning, when he allowed both runs and all three hits, but he escaped trouble with a double play. Across his three starts, Barria's allowed three runs, nine hits and four walks with 15 strikeouts in 15 innings. The right-hander has been effective regardless of role with a 1.85 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB through 39 innings through 14 appearances this season. He worked up to 76 pitches (50 strikes) Wednesday, so he's getting closer to a full workload. Barria's projected for a difficult road start in Texas next week.

He stayed in to begin the sixth inning but faded as the Angels established a lead, and the Cubs couldn't bounce back. Taillon has allowed at least four runs in five of his last six outings, and he's still yet to complete six innings in any appearance. He's at a 7.02 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB through 42.1 innings. Taillon is projected for a home start versus the Pirates next week.
