Brewers hit 5 grand slams in 8-game span, reversing earlier struggles with bases loaded

It was just over a week ago when the Milwaukee Brewers always seemed to struggle with the bases loaded
JUNE 30ASSOCIATED PRESS
Kyle Hendricks - Roughed up in lossHendricks (1-6) took the loss Sunday against the Brewers, surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits and one walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out three.
ImpactHendricks kept the Brewers off the scoreboard over the first three innings before a disastrous fourth inning in which he gave up seven earned runs, including a grand slam to Brice Turang. The 34-year-old veteran was enjoying a renaissance in June, pitching to a 1.27 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP, and a 16:4 K:BB across 21.1 innings before Sunday's disaster. The right-hander will have to go back to the drawing board to improve his ugly 7.48 ERA. His next start is tentatively scheduled for next weekend against the Angels.

Freddy Peralta - Notches eight strikeouts in winPeralta (6-4) picked up the win Sunday against the Cubs, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.
ImpactPeralta yielded a solo home run to Nico Hoerner in the opening frame, but the 28-year-old was locked in afterwards, yielding just one other hit to notch his seventh quality start of the season. The right-hander has shown an impressive ability to miss bats, registering 11.6 K/9 that ranks in the 95th percentile. Despite the lofty strikeout totals, Peralta has been mildly disappointing this season, logging a pedestrian 3.83 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 94 innings. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Dodgers.
JUNE 30ROTOWIRE
Tyler Black - Returns to Triple-AThe Brewers optioned Black to Triple-A Nashville following Sunday's win over the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ImpactThe 23-year-old was called up by Milwaukee on June 19 but totaled just 12 at-bats before being sent back to Triple-A. Black is one of the organization's top prospects but doesn't have a clear path to playing time in the big leagues given who the Brewers currently have available, so he'll go back to the minors to get everyday at-bats.
JUNE 30ROTOWIRE
Garrett Mitchell - Set to be activated MondayMitchell (finger) will join the Brewers in Denver on Monday to be activated from the injured list for the series opener against the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.comreports.
ImpactThe 25-year-old has missed the first three months of the season due to a fractured finger, but he's ready to join the Brewers after a 14-game rehab assignment in the minor leagues. Milwaukee will now have a severe logjam in the outfield, with Mitchell joining a group of Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio. Frelick saw time at third base during spring training, but Joey Ortiz (neck) has played his way into the starting job during the first half.
