Angel Perdomo - Reinstated, sent downPerdomo (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

ImpactPerdomo had been on the injured list since May 30 due to a lower back strain, but he began a rehab assignment June 20. The southpaw made five appearances with the Triple-A club and allowed no hits and a walk while striking out 10 in five scoreless innings. He'll remain in the minors but could return to the Brewers as a low-leverage reliever at some point.

Aaron Ashby - Sent back to minorsThe Brewers optioned Ashby to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

ImpactAshby put the Brewers in a 7-0 hole Wednesday in his MLB debut after he failed to escape the first inning, but Milwaukee spared him a loss by scoring 15 unanswered runs. The poor outing will still result in Ashby losing his spot on the active roster, as Nashville starter Alec Bettinger was called up in a corresponding move to aid a taxed Milwaukee bullpen that covered the final 8.1 innings of Wednesday's come-from-behind win over the Cubs.

Alec Bettinger - Summoned to big clubThe Brewers recalled Bettinger from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

ImpactBettinger will give the Brewers some length out of the bullpen after Milwaukee needed five relievers to cover the final 8.1 innings of Wednesday's 15-7 win. In a corresponding move, Milwaukee optioned Aaron Ashby to Triple-A after he was blasted for seven runs (four earned) while failing to escape the first inning in his first MLB start Wednesday.

ImpactHe'll be included in the lineup for the fifth time in six games, with his last two starts coming at the expense of Avisail Garcia. The Brewers could be inclined the ride the hotter bat of the two outfielders, as both have provided similar production on the whole this season. Taylor owns a .727 OPS over 127 plate appearances, while Garcia is holding down a .750 OPS in 283 plate appearances.

Before checking back into the starting nine Thursday, second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) missed the previous four games, and third baseman Luis Urias appears to be receiving a routine maintenance day in the series opener in Pittsburgh. Assuming both Wong and Urias are in the lineup together Friday, Peterson could find himself back on the bench despite going 10-for-18 with four doubles, five RBI and seven runs over his past seven appearances.
