Ryan Weathers - Chased in second inningWeathers (1-4) allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk over 1.2 innings Sunday, striking out one and taking a loss against the Cubs.

ImpactWeathers gave up one run in the first inning followed by four in the second, including a pair of solo homers. In four starts since returning to the big leagues, he's posted an ugly 7.79 ERA through 17.1 innings. His season ERA has ballooned up to 5.09 with a 23:15 K:BB. If Weathers gets another turn in the rotation, it's currently lined up to be in Colorado.

ImpactAmaya's home run in the third inning against Drew Carlton was the first of his MLB career. The 24-year-old, who debuted with the Cubs earlier this year, was just recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday to replace Justin Steele (forearm) on the roster. Veterans Yan Gomes and Tucker Barnhart are mainstays behind the plate, but Amaya could push the issue if he hits well and Chicago decides it wants to go younger at some point.

ImpactGomes is now up to seven home runs to go with a .271 batting average and .752 OPS. The veteran backstop had eight home runs all of last season and batted .235 with a .625 OPS. That makes the early season production a bit unexpected, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues can continue to plug in Gomes while he's hot.

Marcus Stroman - Sharp again in winStroman (6-4) allowed an unearned run on four hits across six innings to earn the win Sunday against the Padres. He walked three and struck out six.

ImpactAfter a rough start against Minnesota on May 14, Stroman has been locked in over his last four outings, allowing just three earned runs across 29 innings. That's allowed the righty to lower his season ERA to a sparkling 2.39. Stroman had an ERA of 3.50 or lower each of the last three years, so while he might not be able to keep up this pace, he should remain a strong fantasy contributor the rest of the way. Stroman is tentatively set to start again Friday against the Giants on the road.
