Rowan Wick - Throwing againManager David Ross said May 25 that Wick (oblique) began a throwing program, MLB.com reports.
ImpactWick isn't known to have advanced to mound work at this stage of his rehab program, so the right-hander may still be a week or more away from heading to the minors for game action. The 28-year-old was one of the Cubs' top late-inning arms in 2020, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 19 appearances while picking up four saves and five holds. Whenever he returns from his oblique strain, Wick will likely work in a setup capacity in front of closer Craig Kimbrel.

Trevor Williams - Resumes throwingWiliams (appendix) played light catch Sunday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
ImpactWilliams is beginning to ease back into baseball activities after requiring an appendectomy May 30, but since he hasn't been cleared for mound work yet, he appears unlikely to make it back from the 10-day injured list when first eligible this week. Kohl Stewart has made two straight starts in place of Williams and could get the nod when Williams' turn comes up again next weekend versus the Cardinals. Alec Mills (back), who built up to six innings in his most recent rehab outing June 2 at Triple-A Iowa, would represent another option to fill in for Williams.

Jake Marisnick - Could be back MondayCubs manager David Ross said Marisnick (hamstring) looked good during running drills Saturday, and the outfielder could be activated from the 10-day injured list as early as Monday...
ImpactSlowly but surely, the Cubs are returning to full strength in the outfield. Jason Heyward was reinstated from the injured list Saturday, while Joc Pederson (back) is considered day-to-day and could be back in action for Monday's series opener in San Diego. If that's the case, Marisnick would likely have to settle for fourth-outfielder duties once he's reinstated, though he should be a mainstay in the lineup versus left-handed pitching.

Joc Pederson - Shows improvement in recoveryManager David Ross said prior to Sunday's 4-3 win over the Giants that Pederson is feeling "much better" after exiting Saturday's loss due to back tightness, Maddie Lee of NBC Spor...
ImpactPederson didn't start or appear off the bench in Sunday's series finale, but Ross' comments suggest the outfielder isn't at major risk of heading to the 10-day injured list. He'll continue to receive treatment heading into Monday's series opener in San Diego before the Cubs decide in the hours leading up to the 10:10 p.m. ET opening pitch whether Pederson is fit to return to the lineup.
