Tim Anderson - Appealing three-game suspension Anderson is appealing a three-game suspension for making contact with the home plate umpire during Friday's game against the Athletics, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Impact The 29-year-old was ejected from Friday's matchup after exchanging words with the home plate umpire, and his helmet made contact with the umpire's head. Anderson will be available while appealing his suspension, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him miss at least a few games in the near future since he was also suspended for a similar incident in 2021.

Impact Colas tested negative for a concussion after leaving Friday's matchup and is being further evaluated Saturday. The 23-year-old has slashed .395/.465/.842 with five home runs, 11 runs scored and 11 RBI over 10 games since being promoted to Birmingham, and it's not yet clear whether his injury will force him to miss additional time.

The Athletics took Lynn deep for three home runs, including a couple which came on mistake pitches up in the zone. Lynn didn't make his first start of the season until mid-June due to a meniscus tear, and he has yet to find his groove since returning. The 35-year-old veteran starter only has one win this season to go along with a career-worst 6.42 ERA. He is tentatively expected to make his next start against the Royals on Wednesday.

Impact With the White Sox trailing 5-3 in the seventh, Anderson took exception to a called first strike that caught the top inside corner of the zone. He stepped out of the batter's box and exchanged words with home plate umpire Nick Mahrley who promptly threw Anderson out of the game. Anderson then encroached on Mahrley's personal space and the brim of Anderson's helmet made contact with Mahrley's head. Anderson had previously been suspended three games for making contact with an umpire in 2021, and he could be face another suspension for his actions in Friday night's game.
