Leury García - Scratched from lineupGarcia was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Cubs but isn't injured, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
ImpactThe 30-year-old was slated to play shortstop in Sunday's series finale, but Tim Anderson will join the starting nine and lead off. Since Garcia isn't dealing with an injury, he'll be available off the bench.

Tim Anderson - Late lineup additionAnderson is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Sunday against the Cubs, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ImpactAnderson was originally slated for an off day in the series finale, but the shortstop was able to convince manager Tony La Russa to add him to the starting nine. Leury Garcia was scheduled to start at shortstop but will now come off the bench.

Luis Robert - Returning to action MondayManager Tony La Russa said Robert (hip) will join the White Sox on Monday in Minnesota and will be activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of the series opener, James Fegan of...
ImpactRobert has been on a rehab assignment for nearly three weeks while working his way back from a right hip flexor, and the White Sox believe he's now ready for an everyday role at the big-league level. According to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, Robert will be included in the starting nine Monday, presumably manning center field. With the 24-year-old back in action, the White Sox may have fewer opportunities available in the outfield for the likes of Brian Goodwin, Gavin Sheets, Leury Garcia and Adam Engel. All of Robert, Eloy Jimenez and Andrew Vaughn appear locked in for full-time roles between the three outfield spots and the designated-hitter spot, leaving just opening in the lineup up for grabs more often than not.

Frank Schwindel - Heads to benchSchwindel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
ImpactSchwindel started each of the past five games at first base, going 7-for-20 with a home run and a double across those contests. Though Patrick Wisdom will replace Schwindel in the lineup Sunday, there should be room for both players to handle everyday roles at the two corner-infield spots, especially while Schwindel is wielding a hot bat.

Justin Steele - Joining big-league rotationCubs manager David Ross said Steele would be called up from Triple-A Iowa to start Tuesday's game against the Brewers at Wrigley Field, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times repo...
ImpactSteele excelled across 11 relief appearances with the Cubs earlier this season (2.03 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 21:7 K:BB in 13.1 innings), but the organization still wants to develop the 26-year-old lefty as a starter in the long term. Since being reinstated from the injured list and optioned to Triple-A in early July, Steele has impressed in his five starts for Iowa, compiling an 0.87 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 11.8 K/9 across 20.2 innings. The Cubs haven't indicated whether Steele will receive any additional starts beyond Tuesday, so he may need to turn in a quality outing against the Brewers to ensure he sticks in the rotation.

Gavin Sheets - Sitting again SundaySheets is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ImpactSheets continues to be the odd man out with the White Sox without the services of a designated hitter in a National League park. Eloy Jimenez will receive another start in left field, pushing Andrew Vaughn to right.
