ImpactJones lost out on playing time for the Guardians recently, and he sat out five of the last seven matchups. The 24-year-old slashed .244/.309/.372 with two home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs over 24 major-league games after being called up by Cleveland in early July. He should see more consistent at-bats in the minors.

ImpactThe White Sox had reason to fear that Grandal may have suffered a season-ending injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Guardians after he was spotted on crutches following a home-plate collision, but the veteran backstop is facing a more favorable prognosis than expected after getting sent in for additional testing. According to the team, Grandal is still dealing with inflammation caused by a hyperextension of the knee, so he'll at least need some time off for the swelling to subside. Seby Zavala is expected to serve as the White Sox's primary catcher for the duration of Grandal's stay on the 10-day injured list.

ImpactAs a result of the postponement of Sunday's game against the White Sox in addition to a team off day Monday, the Guardians will elect to reorder their rotation. Plesac will end up getting an extended break, as he'll be taking the hill on 10 days' rest following his most recent start Aug. 16 against the Tigers. The right-hander may look to do some tinkering in the meantime after he posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.81 WHIP across his last four outings.
