AJ Pollock - Slated to join team in MinneapolisPollock (hamstring) will join the White Sox in Minneapolis ahead of their weekend series against the Twins, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

ImpactManager Tony La Russa recently said that there's a "good chance" Pollock would be reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's series opener. While La Russa didn't officially confirm Thursday that Pollock will be activated prior to Friday's matchup, the 34-year-old should be back on the field in the coming days following a relatively brief stint on the injured list.

ImpactMcCarty's contract was selected by the Guardians on Wednesday, and he'll make his major-league debut as the starter in Saturday's road matchup against the Yankees. In three starts at Triple-A Columbus this year, he posted a 0.79 ERA, 12:5 K:BB and 1.08 WHIP in 11.1 innings.

Although manager Tony La Russa called the injury minor, he acknowledged Robert could require a stint on the injured list. ImpactRobert went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout to begin Thursday's game, but he appeared to tweak something while running out a grounder in the top of the eighth inning. The nature of his injury isn't clear, and it's not yet known whether he'll be forced to miss additional time.
