Jackson Jobe - Makes case for playoff rosterJobe walked one and struck out two in three scoreless innings of relief Saturday during Saturday's 4-0 loss to the White Sox.
ImpactAfter clinching a wild-card spot Friday and then sitting through a 140-minute rain delay before Saturday's first pitch, the Tigers were fairly listless in this one, but Jobe gave them some life with an impressive long-relief effort that saw him fire 24 of 39 pitches for strikes. The fact that the organization's top pitching prospect was deployed Saturday rather than held back for the regular-season finale Sunday could be a sign Detroit plans to including Jobe on its postseason roster, but what role he might fill in that case isn't clear. Over his last seven minor-league starts between Double-A and Triple-A prior to his late-September promotion to the majors, Jobe posted a 2.57 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB in 35 innings.

Andrew Benintendi - Belts homer No. 20Benintendi went 2-for-4 with a double, a a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Tigers.
ImpactThe 30-year-old outfielder tied his career high in the eighth inning with his 20th homer of the season, as he ripped a cutter from Ty Madden over the fence in right field. Benintendi has been one of the few bright spots in a futile season for the White Sox, and since the beginning of August he's hit .275 with 12 long balls and 33 RBI in 47 contests.

Sean Burke - Blanks Detroit for second winBurke (2-0) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two hits and three walks over five scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory over the Tigers. He struck out six.
ImpactThe start of the game was delayed by over two hours due to rain, but Burke wasn't fazed by having to sit around in the clubhouse before taking the mound. The rookie right-hander tossed 84 pitches (49 strikes) in his final outing of the season, and through four appearances in September with the big-league club, Burke put together an eye-popping 1.42 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB over 19 innings. The 2021 third-round pick could head into spring training next year as a favorite to secure a regular rotation spot with the White Sox.
