Mason Miller - Notches 16th save in returnMiller pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his 16th save of the season Wednesday against the White Sox. He did not record a strikeout.
ImpactActivated off the injured list Wednesday morning, Miller (finger) needed just 13 pitches to notch his first save since July 10. With the trade deadline in the rearview, Miller should have little competition for saves the rest of the way. The 25-year-old is in the midst of a breakout season, posting a robust 2.16 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 70:14 K:BB across 41.2 innings, going 16-for-18 in save opportunities.

Joey Estes - Fans four in no-decisionEstes did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's win against the White Sox, allowing two earned runs on six hits and zero walks while striking out four in five innings.
ImpactBoth earned runs came on a two-run blast by Andrew Benintendi in the second inning. Although he yielded three extra-base hits and needed 96 pitches to get through five innings, Estes has pitched well of late. The 22-year-old rookie has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his past five appearances (four starts), pitching to a 2.84 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB in 25.1 innings during that stretch. Estes will look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against the Mets.

Davis Martin - Six shutout inningsMartin came away with a no-decision Wednesday against the Athletics, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out four in six scoreless innings.
ImpactMartin cruised through six innings on just 82 pitches, even bringing a no-hitter into the fifth inning before an Abraham Toro single broke up the bid. Martin exited the game leading 2-0 and in line for the win, but Touki Toussaint promptly gave up three runs in the seventh, resulting in a no-decision for Martin. The 27-year-old Martin has taken over Erick Fedde's rotation spot since the trade deadline and will continue to make starts for the White Sox, especially with Drew Thorpe (flexor) out for the foreseeable future. Martin owns a 3.65 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings (two starts) this season. His next start is scheduled to come next week against the Yankees.
