Impact Bassitt's contract includes a $19 million mutual option for 2023. Over his first eight starts in 2022, the right-hander has posted a 2.77 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 48.2 innings. With Max Scherzer (oblique), Jacob deGrom (shoulder) and Tylor Megill (biceps) all on the injured list, Bassitt will be particularly important for the Mets over the next few weeks.

Impact Bassitt allowed solo shots to Juan Yepez and Paul Goldschmidt in the second and third innings respectively and was ultimately chased in the seventh after allowing two one-out baserunners. It wasn't the worst outing of the season for the right-hander, but his three strikeouts were a season low. Regardless, he still sports a 2.77 ERA with a 49:13 K:BB through his first eight starts (48.2 innings). His next start is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday's matchup in San Francisco.

Impact Bassitt found himself in trouble in the first inning, walking two batters and hitting another to load the bases. He managed to get out of that jam and kept the Mariners off the scoreboard through five frames before yielding a run in the sixth. He left with New York up 4-1, but the Mets' bullpen couldn't hold the lead, and Bassitt ended up with his first no-decision of the campaign. The right-hander has been great in his first season in New York, posting a 2.34 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 46:12 K:BB across 42.1 innings. He's slated to make his next start at home against St. Louis.
