Impact Chatham, a former top prospect in the Red Sox system, has yet to make his MLB debut as he heads into his age-27 campaign. He spent the 2021 season in the Philadelphia organization and slashed .271/.341/.381 with three home runs and 23 RBI across 176 plate appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Impact Chatham was sent down by the Phillies on March 16, but he'll now be released so he can seek out other opportunities ahead of the regular season. The 26-year-old will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal after he hit .174 with two RBI and six strikeouts in 10 spring games this year.

Impact Chatham was in the mix to win a job as a bench infielder this spring but is now out of the competition with two weeks to spare despite fellow bench candidate Brad Miller dealing with an oblique issue. The 26-year-old could be called up sometime this season if the Phillies need an extra middle infielder, but he's unlikely to play a significant role in the team's plans.

Impact Chatham may have a big-league future but doesn't look set for stardom. The 26-year-old was part of the Red Sox's player pool last season but didn't get the chance to make his big-league debut. He's only played 20 games at the Triple-A level, posting a 92 wRC+. Chatham has a classic bench infielder profile, as he makes decent contact and can play a fine shortstop but has very little power, hitting .298/.337/.402 over four minor-league seasons. He'll be in the mix for a bench spot with the Phillies this spring but is unlikely to be an exciting fantasy option even if he winds up with unexpected playing time.
