Gavin Williams - Falls short of quality start Williams allowed a run on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out three during the loss to St. Louis.
Impact Williams fired five scoreless innings before the Cardinals finally pushed a run home in the sixth. He broke a three-start losing streak but has now failed to complete six innings in seven of his last eight appearances. During that span, he's produced a 5.35 ERA with a 37:19 K:BB. José Ramírez - Goes deep again Saturday Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double Saturday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Ramirez helped Cleveland mount a late rally, belting a three-run shot to left field in the eighth inning to reduce a five-run deficit to just two runs. The star third baseman has homered in each of his past two games and has gone 5-for-8 with five RBI during the pair of contests. Ramirez's long ball Saturday was his 37th of the season, bring him to within two of the career-best mark of 39 that he established in 2018.

Matthew Boyd - Logs another short start Boyd (2-2) took the loss against St. Louis on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters over four innings.
Impact Boyd wasn't tagged for a large amount of runs and yielded a modest four hits, but he issued three free passes and needed 88 pitches to get through four frames. Short starts have been the norm for the southpaw of late -- across his past three outings, he hasn't gone deeper than 4.1 innings despite yielding a tolerable five earned runs over 11 frames during that stretch. Boyd has had his strikeout stuff working, though, as he's posted 20 punchouts across those 11 innings.
