Zak Kent - Re-ups with Guardians Kent (elbow) re-signed with the Guardians on a minor-league contract July 16 and was placed on Triple-A Columbus' 7-day injured list a day later. Impact Kent began the season on the Guardians' 40-man roster and was optioned to Columbus coming out of spring training. He made three appearances with the Triple-A club before landing on the IL on April 19 with a right elbow strain. Kent was never activated before the Guardians designated him for assignment in late June and then ultimately released him, but he's now back with the organization, though he's no longer a member of the 40-man roster. He's still working his way back from the elbow injury, but Kent will take a meaningful step forward Thursday, as he's been cleared to report to the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to begin a rehab assignment.
