ImpactBoth of Gonzalez's hits are singles, and he's added an RBI and two strikeouts. The second-year outfielder enters 2023 as the projected starting right fielder for the Guardians, but he will need to maintain the strong hitting he displayed as a rookie last year. Gonzalez slashed .296/.327/.461 with 11 home runs and 27 doubles over 91 contests in 2022. If he struggles early in the season, Will Brennan, Gabriel Arias, Tyler Freeman or Roman Quinn could potentially challenge Gonzalez for playing time.

Steven Kwan - Solid start to springKwan has gone 3-for-12 with two runs scored and two strikeouts across four Cactus League games.
ImpactThere's little reason to worry about Kwan's performance at the plate in the spring. He posted a 62:60 BB:K last year while slashing .298/.373/.400 and stealing 19 bases across 147 games. He could regress a slight amount from his .323 BABIP as a rookie last year, but his sharp eye at the plate and contact hitting should keep him in the leadoff role barring a significant slump.
