Impressive in simulated gameSanchez was pleased with his results during his three-inning simulated game Sunday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ImpactSanchez hasn't yet appeared in a spring training game this year as he continues to work his way back from September 2019 shoulder surgery, but he showed no limitations during his sim game Sunday. The right-hander didn't know his exact velocity during his throwing session, but he was pleased with how the ball felt coming out of his hand. Sanchez will now have just over two weeks to appear in Cactus League games ahead of Opening Day.

Playing in simulated gameBelt (heel) is playing first base in a simulated game Sunday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ImpactIt's been slow going in camp for the 32-year-old after dealing with COVID-19 in January and mononucleosis in February, but he appears to be nearing his Cactus League debut for the Giants. Belt still has a couple weeks to prepare for Opening Day, but his conditioning may not be up to par after recovering from a pair of long-term ailments. He had a .309/.425/.591 slash line with nine home runs, 13 doubles, 30 RBI and 30 walks in 51 games during 2020.

ImpactSandlin did return to pitch at Cleveland's alternate site last season but did not appear in an official game. The sidewinder will likely need to show he's healthy at Triple-A before getting a shot at the majors. The 67th overall pick in the 2018 draft was dominant when last fully healthy in 2019 with a 1.56 ERA and 14.2 K/9 at Double-A.

ImpactIt was Moronta's spring debut after missing last season due to shoulder surgery. He averaged 97.2 mph with his fastball in 2019, so he likely has a ways to go to build back to his prior form.

Set for simulated gameSanchez will pitch a three-inning simulated game Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He's yet to appear in a spring training game as he works his way back...
ImpactThe right-hander averaged just under 94 mph on his fastball during 2018 and 2019, but he was hitting 98 mph in bullpen sessions in early February. He's been penciled into the No. 4 spot in the rotation, but his lack of spring starts so far has his availability for the opening of the regular season in question.
