Impact McMahon extended his hitting streak to seven games with the blast, which was his third homer in that span. He's been making great contact lately, going 10-for-26 (.385) with seven extra-base hits during the streak. The infielder has a team-leading 19 long balls with 58 RBI, 60 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .263/.343/.485 slash line through 106 contests overall.

Toglia's been in a bad way at the plate, managing just four singles while striking out 12 times in his last 25 at-bats, but the Rockies are in full-blown evaluation mode and the 24-year-old Toglia likely still has some leash in a regular role.

Impact Diaz came out of the All-Star without much punch at the plate, though he's changed that across his last six games. In that span, he's collected 11 hits in 25 at-bats while also tacking on four RBI and two runs scored. Since C.J. Cron and Randal Grichuk were dealt away, Diaz has hit cleanup twice, though he hit in his more customary sixth position Friday.

Impact Feltner was cleared to begin throwing again in late July after recovering from a fractured skull and subsequent serious concussion symptoms. He is set to throw two bullpen sessions per week for a few weeks and then progress to a rehab assignment. That won't leave him much time to return during the regular season, though manager Bud Black told the media that both the team and Feltner believe it's important for him to get back on the mound prior to the winter to clear any mental hurdles that may be the result of his injury.

Impact Since being recalled July 25, Montero has started six of nine games split between first base and DH. He's collected seven hits in 25 at-bats, though he's still striking out at a 37 percent clip. Montero began the season as an option at third base for the Rockies, but he struggled there defensively and has since been limited to the opposite corner of the infield. In order to maintain playing time once Charlie Blackmon (hand) and Kris Bryant (hand) return -- both remain without a timetable -- Montero will have to continue to hit.
