On bench again Wednesday Goodman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Impact Goodman had appeared to take control of the Rockies' No. 1 catcher job after producing an .861 OPS through the first three weeks of September, but he'll end up hitting the bench for a second straight game Wednesday. Jacob Stallings will receive another start behind the plate with Goodman out of the lineup.

Nursing hamstring injury Rodgers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with a left hamstring injury, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Impact Rodgers missed a couple starts earlier this month with right hamstring tightness, but it's apparently an injury to his other hamstring that will keep him out of the lineup Wednesday for the second day in a row. For his part, Rodgers doesn't seem too concerned about the injury, as he said he would be available off the bench for an at-bat, if needed. Aaron Schunk will cover the keystone Wednesday in Rodgers' stead.

Multiple extra-base hits Blackmon went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and an RBI on Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Impact Blackmon announced his retirement Monday and followed that up with a vintage performance a day later. His .318 wOBA and 91 wRC+ for the season match his career-worst marks, though he could be intriguing in the final week of the campaign as the Rockies finish the schedule at Coors Field. Meanwhile, Blackmon has maintained a .375 wOBA and .220 ISO at home this season.

Calls it a career Blackmon announced Monday that he's retiring from Major League Baseball at the end of the 2024 season, MLB.com reports.

Impact The 38-year-old is closing in on the completion of his 14th year in the major leagues, and with the Rockies already eliminated from postseason contention, Blackmon has decided the time is now to announce his retirement.
