Logs two extra-base hits in winRodgers went 2-for-3 with a double, a two-run homer and two runs in Tuesday's spring win over the Diamondbacks.
ImpactRodgers had gone just 1-for-5 with a single and two strikeouts across his past two games, but he was dominant in the early innings of Tuesday's Cactus League matchup. After C.J. Cron led off the top of the second inning with a double, Rodgers blasted a two-run homer to left field to put the Rockies on the board. He then led off the top of the fourth inning with a double of his own and came around to score. The 24-year-old is a strong candidate to carve out regular playing time in the infield if he can produce once the season gets underway.

Flashes power in spring winCron went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, two doubles and two runs in Tuesday's spring win over the Diamondbacks.
ImpactCron got off to a slow start this spring, going just 1-for-13 with a single and six strikeouts across five games, but he had his way against Arizona in Tuesday's blowout win. Although the 31-year-old is in camp as a non-roster invitee, he has a good chance to carve out regular at-bats during the regular season. Josh Fuentes has also impressed at the plate and on defense while competing for the job at first base, but Fuentes can also play third base and left field, which should leave Cron with plenty of opportunities at first.

Limits run production in winGonzalez (1-0) allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out one over three innings as he earned the win in Tuesday's spring game against the Diamondbacks.
ImpactGonzalez gave up a home run with one out in the second inning Tuesday, but he worked out of several jams to earn the win in his third appearance of spring training. After a rough relief appearance in his spring debut, the right-hander has now allowed just one run on five hits and no walks while striking out one over five innings across his past two starts.

Retires lone batter facedCrichton struck out one in a third of an inning in Tuesday's spring game against the Rockies.
ImpactThrough two Cactus League appearances, Crichton has allowed two hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 1.1 innings. Manager Torey Lovullo included Crichton's name in the closer mix; however, both of his outings have come in the seventh inning against opponents' backups. Joakim Soria, the other reliever being considered as closer, has made one appearance thus far, entering the game in the third inning against the Cubs' regulars.
