Jordan Montgomery - Slated for Triple-A start SundayMontgomery is scheduled to make a start with Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

ImpactMontgomery tossed three innings and 50 pitches in a simulated game Monday at the Diamondbacks' spring training facility and is ready to move on to an official game setting next. The left-hander has said he's aiming for April 19 as the date of his first start with the big club, which would point to one additional start in the minors after Sunday before he joins Arizona.

ImpactIt's the first big-league promotion for Barrosa, who slashed .274/.394/.456 with 13 home runs and 15 stolen bases at Reno last season. The switch-hitting 23-year-old is capable of playing all three outfield spots and will likely serve mostly as a fourth outfielder.

ImpactThomas suffered the injury during Sunday's game and subsequent testing evidently deemed it severe enough to require a stint on the IL. It's not clear what the grade of the strain is, so it's difficult to project a timetable for Thomas' return at this juncture. Jake McCarthy should see the biggest boost in playing time for the Diamondbacks while Thomas is sidelined.
