Dodgers News: MLB Writer Expects Max Muncy to Bounce Back in 2023He sees him having a rebound season.

Will Smith - Homers again in winSmith went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a run-scoring double in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.
ImpactSmith left the yard for the third game in a row and appears to have settled in just fine after moving up to the No. 3 spot in the order in 2023 after primarily batting cleanup last season. He's recorded at least one hit while starting in five of the Dodgers' first six games and is tied for the MLB lead in RBI with 10.

Max Muncy - Slugs first homer of 2023Muncy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.
ImpactThe home run was the first of the season for Muncy, who recently moved past a lower-body injury that kept him out for a game. Though he came away with hits in his first two trips to the plate Tuesday, Muncy still doesn't look to be completely dialed in just yet, as he struck out swinging and looking in his final two plate appearances. He's struck out in 11 of his 23 plate appearances to date (47.8 percent).

Jason Heyward - Goes yard again TuesdayHeyward went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.
ImpactFor the second day in a row, Heyward picked up a start in the outfield and came through with a home run, after previously connecting on a two-run blast in Monday's series opener. Though his production has been largely disappointing since he signed a $184 million contract with the Cubs in December 2015, the 33-year-old Heyward has gotten off to a nice start with Los Angeles after joining the team on a minor-league deal over the winter. He could be a candidate to see semi-regular starts versus right-handed pitching if he can continue to capitalize on his opportunities like he has the past two days.

Evan Phillips - Nabs first save of 2023Phillips retired two of the three batters he faced en route to notching his first save of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.
ImpactWith one out and runners on first and second in the top of the ninth, Phillips was summoned from the bullpen to put out the fire. Though he hit the first batter he faced to load the bases, Phillips coaxed a run-scoring sacrifice fly off the bat of Mike Moustakas and then induced a groundout by Charlie Blackmon to extinguish the threat. Phillips' save was the Dodgers' second of the season, and the first in a more traditional fashion after long reliever Andre Jackson picked up the team's first save by pitching three innings at the tail end of a 10-1 win over the Diamondbacks last weekend. Phillips looks like he'll be a part of a committee approach to closing situations, with Brusdar Graterol and Alex Vesia also being candidates to scoop up the occasional save chance.
