ImpactThe transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Duke Ellis. Hamilton's timetable remains unaffected, as he's already missed more than 60 days with a right lat strain. The reliever began a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset over the weekend, striking out the side in a perfect inning in his lone appearance. He could be back when rosters expand, if not sooner.

Duke Ellis - Claimed by YankeesThe Yankees claimed Ellis off waivers from the Mariners on Monday.

ImpactSince mid-June, Ellis has bounced around from the White Sox to the Mets to the Mariners and now to the Yankees. The speedster has slashed just .235/.315/.336in the minors this season but has stolen 51 bases in 54 attempts. He'll report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

ImpactIt's a recurrence of an injury which sidelined Gilbreath earlier this season while he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He was tagged for six runs over one inning of work covering three appearances with the Rockies after being activated from the IL earlier this month. It's not clear how long he'll be out this time around.

ImpactFeltner is expected to start Monday's game at home against the Marlins after missing nearly three weeks with a right shoulder strain. The right-hander made one rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. He threw only 49 pitches in the outing, so Feltner's workload will be limited Monday.
