The problematic left-side-of-the-infield woes of the Phillies, who are built to win now but not talented enough to do soThe left side of the infield is emblematic of everything that has infected the Phillies in 2021. It's time to start thinking about 2022.

J.T. Realmuto - Breaks slump SundayRealmuto went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-4 loss to Colorado.
ImpactThe 30-year-old was the only Philadelphia batter to record multiple hits in the contest. The strong game snapped a 1-for-15 slump at the plate for the catcher. Realmuto has provided solid all-around production this year with a .262/.349/.434 slash line, 14 home runs, 60 RBI, 57 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and 23 doubles through 470 plate appearances.

Héctor Neris - Charged with loss SundayNeris (2-6) took the loss Sunday versus Colorado. He allowed two runs on two hits in one inning.
ImpactThe right-hander allowed a single to Elias Diaz and a home run to Garrett Hampson in the seventh inning, and Philadelphia wasn't able to recover from it. Neris saw his 10.1-inning scoreless streak come to a close -- during that span, he allowed five hits and four walks while striking out 17. He's pitched to a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 82:25 K:BB in 62.2 innings this year. Neris remains in a setup role behind Ian Kennedy after the former lost the closer job in June.

Aaron Nola - Strikes out 10 in no-decisionNola allowed three runs on five hits and struck out 10 in 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus Colorado on Sunday.
ImpactFor the third time in his last four starts, Nola didn't walk a batter. The only mistake on his ledger Sunday was a three-run home run to Garrett Hampson in the fifth inning. Nola remains without a win in his last nine starts, although he's only taken two losses in that span despite failing to complete six innings in seven of those outings. For the year, the right-hander has a 4.58 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 202:35 K:BB in 163 innings. He'll try to get back in the win column next weekend in a projected road start versus the Mets.
