Jose Azocar - Swipes first bag of campaignAzocar went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 3-1 win over Colorado.
ImpactAzocar got his second start in right field Sunday, with both coming against left-handed starters. The speedy outfielder displayed his speed in the third inning, reaching on an infield single, taking second on a wild pitch and subsequently swiping third before coming home on a Xander Bogaerts homer. Azocar looks to be locked into the short side of a right-field platoon with David Dahl for the time being, though that will change when Fernando Tatis is eligible to return from his suspension.

Fernando Tatis Jr. - Starting stint at Triple-A TuesdayTatis (suspension) will begin his stint with Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactTatis is eligible to return from his PED suspension on April 20 and he's permitted to play in some minor-league games before then in order to get ready. The 24-year-old is also coming back from wrist and shoulder surgeries, but he's considered fully healthy at this point after playing in 16 spring training games. Padres manager Bob Melvin has indicated Tatis will likely bat leadoff once he rejoins the major-league roster.

Ezequiel Tovar - Gets Monday offTovar is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
ImpactTovar secured the Rockies' everyday shortstop job coming out of spring training and started in all four games of the team's season-opening series in San Diego, going 2-for-15 with no walks and six strikeouts in those contests. Despite Tovar's underwhelming series against the Padres, he should still have a decent amount of leash in a regular role. Alan Trejo will spell Tovar in Monday's contest, however.

ImpactWith Mike Moustakas drawing the nod at third base Monday, Montero will sit after he had manned the position in each of the Rockies' first four games of the 2023 season. Montero recorded four hits -- including a home run -- across his 16 at-bats in the Rockies' season-opening series in San Diego, but he struck out eight times.

Yonathan Daza - Sitting MondayDaza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
ImpactHarold Castro will draw the start in center field while Daza sits for the first time during the 2023 campaign. Daza went 3-for-17 with a run scored and a stolen base during the Rockies' season-opening four-game series at San Diego.

Gavin Hollowell - Shut down with forearm tightnessTriple-A Albuquerque placed Hollowell on its 10-day injured list Sunday due to right forearm tightness, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
ImpactHollowell was the final reliever the Rockies cut prior to Opening Day, and the right-hander looks like he'll have to wait a little longer for a call-up to the big-league bullpen now that he's tending to an injury. The 25-year-old previously appeared in six games for the Rockies in 2022, logging a 7.71 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over seven innings.
