Elehuris Montero - Optioned to Triple-AMontero was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque following Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Giants.
ImpactMontero will head back to Triple-A after being called up from Albuquerque on May 29. The 24-year-old produced a .145 average with four extra-base hits, including a homer, eight RBI and four runs scored over 55 at-bats in 18 games during his second stint with Colorado in 2023. Montero will look to hit for a higher average with Triple-A before potentially earning another call-up later this season.

Jairo Pomares - Pulled off rehab assignmentPomares (quadriceps) went 8-for-23 with two doubles and a 5:6 BB:K in eight rehab games for the Giants' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate before being pulled off the as...
ImpactPomares has spent the entire season on High-A Eugene's 7-day injured list due to a quad strain but appeared to be close to rejoining the affiliate after he began a rehab assignment in the ACL on June 5. However, Pomares hasn't played for the Giants' rookie-ball club or another affiliate since June 24, perhaps indicating that he may have suffered a setback.

Donovan Walton - Shifts rehab to High-AWalton (shoulder) is hitting .250/.340/.318 with four walks against 11 strikeouts in 12 games since moving his rehab assignment to High-A Eugene on June 25.
ImpactWalton has been on the Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list all season while working his way back from offseason surgery on his right shoulder, but he's been playing in rehab games since June 9 and should be close to rejoining the Giants' top minor-league affiliate. Between 10 games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and 12 at Eugene, the 29-year-old is slashing .301/.407/.397 overall.

Warming Bernabel - Closing in on return to Double-ABernabel (back) began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on June 28 and has gone 11-for-33 with two home runs and four doubles over eight games.
ImpactBernabel has resided on Double-A Hartford's 7-day injured list since May 26 with a back injury, but he looks like he could be activated shortly after the minor-league All-Star break. Prior to being shut down in late May, Bernabel had posted a .630 OPS over 126 plate appearances with Hartford.

Zac Veen - Shifts to 60-day ILDouble-A Hartford transferred Veen (hand) from its 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Saturday.
ImpactVeen's move to the 60-day IL was merely a formality after he underwent season-ending surgery in June to repair tearing and fraying to a ligament in his left hand. Before being shut down for the campaign, the 21-year-old outfielder had gotten off to a slow start at Hartford, slashing .209/.303/.308 with 11 extra-base hits and 22 stolen bases in 201 plate appearances. He'll look to return to full health for spring training and will presumably open the 2023 season back in Hartford.
