Slated to play shortstop Wednesday
Seager (quad) is expected to return to the field Wednesday after starting at designated hitter each of the last two games, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Seager missed Sunday's contest with a left quadriceps injury, but he has been well enough to play as the team's designated hitter Monday and Tuesday. Manager Dave Roberts indicated that Seager is likely to return to his customary shortstop position Wednesday against San Diego. Seager has enjoyed a strong start to the season, slashing .356/.408/.644 with three home runs and seven RBI.

Another two-hit performance
Seager went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss against the Padres.
Impact
Seager was the only Dodger who recorded more than one hit in this game, but that is becoming a trend for the third baseman -- he is currently riding a six-game hitting streak and has recorded multi-hit performances in each of his last three contests. He has hit safely in all but one game this season, going 15-for-40 (.375) in his first 40 at-bats.

Back in lineup Monday
Seager (quad) is starting as the designated hitter and batting sixth Monday against the Padres.
Impact
Seager wasn't able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a left quadriceps injury, but he'll be healthy enough to serve as the designated hitter for the series opener against San Diego. It's unclear when the 26-year-old will be able to return to the field, but Chris Taylor will handle the duties at shortstop Monday.

Could return Monday
Seager (quad) could serve as the designated hitter Monday against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Seager was held out of Sunday's win against the Diamondbacks, but manager Dave Roberts said after the game that he received treatment for his quad issue. If Seager shifts to the designated hitter role while he recovers, Chris Taylor would be the most likely candidate to see time at shortstop.

Dealing with quadriceps issue
Seager won't be in the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks due to a left quadriceps injury, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
Impact
It's unclear how long Seager has been battling the injury, as he's been on a tear to begin the season with three home runs, three doubles and a 1.119 OPS in nine games. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but the team is likely to remain cautious this early in the season. Chris Taylor is the probable candidate to fill in at shortstop for the Dodgers.

Walks six in loss
Ray (0-2) was charged with the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday, surrendering five runs on five hits and six walks with four strikeouts across 4.2 innings.
Impact
Ray struggled with his command from the start, issuing a leadoff walk to Mookie Betts, who soon scored on a sacrifice fly by Justin Turner. The 28-year-old then gave up a two-run homer to AJ Pollock. The second inning brought more trouble in the form of a leadoff home run by Corey Seager, who eventually became Ray's final batter in the fifth after knocking in an RBI groundout. The six walks were a career-high for Ray. He'll look to straighten things out on Wednesday against Houston.
