Falters in eighth frame Thursday Hudson (6-2) blew a save and took the loss against the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning. Impact Los Angeles carried a one-run lead into the eighth inning, and manager Dave Roberts turned to Hudson -- who had six saves over his previous 12 outings entering Thursday -- to face the heart of Milwaukee's order. The strategy didn't pay off, as Hudson was tagged for three runs on a double, two singles and a walk. Though the righty reliever has been excellent overall this season, he's given up at least one earned run in three of his past four appearances. Despite his deployment in the eighth frame Thursday, Hudson is likely to still see some save chances moving forward; however, Roberts has gone with more of a committee approach in recent weeks, so Hudson may not get the same volume of save opportunities as the league's more locked-in closers.
